Clarke, Kent, Seguin net 12 points in 7-2 over Flyers

It is still early in the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League season and already the line of Tyler Clarke, Alex Seguin and Owen Kent are showing they are a force to be reckoned with.

Sunday night, after winning 5-2 on the road Saturday over Kingsville Comets, the Blades netted seven goals in a 7-2 victory over Alvinston Flyers at the Blenheim Memorial Arena with the trio tallying 12 points as each forward got four apiece. Clarke, who scored twice Saturday, had the hat trick and an assist, while Seguin and Kent fired a goal each and set up three each.

Kingsville – Blenheim Blades, after a pair of Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League loses, rode the goaltending of rookie Zack Knudsen and the goal-scoring of veteran Tyler Clarke to a 5-1 inter-division victory over Kingsville Comets Saturday night (Sept. 19) in Kingsville.

Lakers rally in third to beat Blades.

Wallaceburg – Blenheim Blades, up 3-2 on the scoreboard, and 19-14 in shots-on-goal after two periods, could not hold on to their advantage as Wallaceburg Lakers roared back with four unanswered third-period goals to beat the Blades 7-3 in Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League action Wednesday night in Wallaceburg.

The Blades, now 0-2 on the season, return to action Saturday when they travel to Kingsville to tangle with the Comets at 7:30 before hosting Alviston Flyers Sunday at 7:15 at the Blenheim arena.
