Blades Playoff Hopes Still Aliver

The Blenheim Blades are chasing the Alvinston Flyers for the final playoff spot in the North Division and kept the possibility of returning to the playoffs alive by knocking off the Flyers in Alvinston 6-3 Friday night. In a feisty affair the Blades got on the board quickly and ever looked back knowing how important each remaining game is to their playoff chances.

Sunday night, prior to their Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League game with Dresden Kings, Blenheim Blades made a $250 donation to Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers on Crime Stoppers Night.

Member of Crime Stoppers were on hand prior to the game to hand out literature to fans about Crime Stoppers.

Gawne, Kings too much for Blades

With the season quickly winding down Blenheim Blades were in need of at least one, and hopefully two points Sunday night when they hosted Dresden Kings in a Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League North Division game before 327 spectators at the Blenheim arena.

However the Kings beat the Blades 11-5 and kept fifth-place Blenheim five points behind fourth-place Alvinston Flyers in the race for the fourth, and final, North Division playoff spot.

Blades shine in Showcase Game

Kingsville - It was the best of the North Division against the best of the South Division in the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League’s annual Showcase Game on a snowy Thursday night in Kingsville with three Blenheim Blades leading the way as the North beat the South 5-4.
Forwards Alex Seguin and Tyler Clarke, who stand fifth and sixth respectively in league scoring, had three points each with Seguin getting a goal and two assists and Clarke three assists.
